FPHA and Florida Voices for Health are partnering together to launch a video advocacy campaign to raise awareness about the value and importance of public health. Right now, Americans has a mixed understanding of public health, often viewing it through the lens or personal, controllable factors like diet or exercise or confusing it with individual healthcare. There is also a growing distrust in public health systems and government organizations, which leads to the doubt or dismissal or public health messages.
How do we overcome these barriers? Public health messaging should come from a trusted source, address the audience's specific knowledge gap, and reflect real-life experiences to make public health more relatable. By sharing your story, you are helping to raise awareness about what public health is and why it's essential. Help us highlight the impact of public health on Florida communities and showcase the important work of public health professionals across the state!
