Continuing Education Resources

The CDC laboratory Training website can connect individuals with laboratory focused training that can aid in career development and/or accreditation needs. This website can be used to register for online courses, webinars, seminars, and hands-on workshops. Courses are free and most offer P.A.C.E continuing education credits.

Current subjects include but are not limited to:

   ·         Basic Microbiology
   ·         Biothreat preparedness training for sentinel laboratories
   ·         Brain-eating Amoebae
   ·         BT rule Out or Refer
   ·         Core Microbiology Skills
   ·         Fundamentals of working safely in a Biological Safety Cabinet
   ·         Packing and Shipping Division 6.2 Materials

CDC TRAIN is an online learning system that offers public health training opportunities, many that are free. Accounts are free to sign up for and allow individuals to search for courses to meet their professional development requirements and manage training transcripts.

The Training and Continuing Education Online (TCEO) is a system that provides access to CDC educational activities for continuing education (CE). TCEO can be used to search for CE opportunities, complete course evaluation and post-tests, receive CE certificates, and manage CE transcripts.

Suwannee River Area Health Education Center offers free and low-cost enduring CE courses. Some of the topics include:

  • Pediatric Asthma and Allergy
